I'm fascinated by tree skeletons. One fall morning on Santiam Pass we stopped for fall color on the hill sides on the west side of the pass. I looked across the road and saw the sun lighting up the new growth while also showing off the the burnt trunks of the former forest. This image gives me a sense of hope in the regrowth of the forest. Santiam Pass, Oregon, October of 2021
