A story: Two or three weeks before taking this image, a guy who noticed I took a lot of photos came to my campsite and told me I should meet this couple in Victoria (which was a loooong way away) because they also liked photography, and he lent me a brochure about them. It was weird because the brochure was at least 30 years old--showing this handsome and robust Austrian couple photographing Australia. I read one of the articles--about filming crocodiles--to be polite and gave it back to him. Right after I took this Mimosa Rocks sunrise picture on a deserted beach I was startled to see a little old man with white hair and white beard behind me. He asked what kind of camera I had and when I said Nikon D850, he said "Yeah, I have one of those too." (But he was carrying a small point-an-shoot and no tripod.) After chatting for awhile, though, I came to like him. He was cheerfull and had a sparkle in his eye. Later he came to my campsite and brought me a brochure. Yes! The same one. *He* was the strapping Austrian photographer 40 years later. We had a beer with him and his wife. They were delightful and we still keep in contact.
