playing with Topaz and a Gyrfalcon shot, I want to use some of the Topaz filters and masking to improve the separation of the subject from the background.

While the other bird is hell bent on causing trouble it is quite an arresting photo but, I actually like this one better. The background does not compete with the subject. There is something about the large eyes that make him seem “sweet.”
Blanche I appreciate your comment – and I see what you are saying, this one is more artistic, while the other one captures the intensity of a raptor on the hunt
