immature robin

This young robin was using his voice to tell his mother that the worm she was pulling from the ground is what he wanted for lunch. He is apparently used to being fed. The mother robin was just out of the picture frame. I watched the young bird follow her everywhere she went for some time. I imagined that she was trying to show him how to get his own food.
