Sorry you didn’t get any this year but I know you love going. We do too. My husband can’t hike much but he is pretty good at getting the car to places where it is likely that we may encounter these wild animals………….a long lens helps also. I got a new 150 -600mm Sigma this year. It has that 600mm reach and can be adjusted down to fill the frame if the animal is closer so cropping isn’t necessary as much. This elk and others were just beside the road between Mammath and the La mar valley. Sheer luck.
